"The patient's and nurse's voice in decisionmaking"
I am working as a nurse but I am also a teacher and have a exam in developmental psychology.
I am a positive and active woman and passionate about the patient's rights, good care, the right to equal care wherever you live.
As a nurse and cancernurse, I meet different people every day, a good treatment is important in healthcare but at least as important is to listen to the patient and provide time and security for them.
For me, it is important that every patient receives the care they need, at the right time and in the right place. A good treatment and understanding is an important part for the patient to feel safe. Participation in their own care and understanding the care that is given is something that patients are entitled to.
The well-being of nurses / staff is something we must look closer at. We need to listen to the nurses, what do they need to still have strengths to go on with the important work they do. We must also get the nurses to stay in Ostrobothnia.
I am an elected board member of the Ostrobothnia Cancer Society and the delegation of the Finnish Cancer Society.
In the spring of 2020, I co-founded, and am vice chairman of, Gynecological Cancer Patients in Finland rf, which is a patient association for women with some form of gynecological cancer.
I am a patient representative in the European EURACAN rare gynecological cancer domain. I am also part of the European Cancer Organizations HPV Network and Quality of life Network.
